* Little Birdies *

I love Spring...we have several bird nests, one on our well house and one in between two brooms in the garage!!! It's been so fun watching the baby birds grow, and the parents so diligently feeding and caring for them!

The two pictures above this picture is a week or so ago, look how much they have grown!!

The nest in our brooms, can't wait for them to hatch!:)

"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?"

Recipe: Pizza Sticks!

Hello! I am hoping to be posting my favorite recipes as I have time, so hope you enjoy :) The first recipe is Pizza Sticks, yummy! They are so simple and good and take little time to make, perfect match, right?! So...here you go :)

Don't they look pretty too?!! I know it sounds funny to call it "pretty" but I think it is... Okay, here's the recipe :p

Pizza Sticks
recipe adapted by Jaeleen Leever – photography by Jaeleen Leever

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups flour, part whole wheat and part unbleached all-purpose

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons oil

1 cup warm water

1 tablespoon honey

fresh rosemary, several sprigs of all the fresh herbs

fresh oregano

fresh basil

fresh thyme

1 stick melted butter

about 2 cups cheese

parmesan cheese, if desired

pizza sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix together the flour, yeast, and salt.  Then add the oil, honey and warm water.  Briskly stir together all of the ingredients.  Turn onto a floured work surface and knead for about five minutes, then let rest for five minutes.

Roll out the dough on parchment paper, into a 7 ½ by 11 ½ inch rectangle.  Brush with the melted butter.

Then chop up all the fresh herbs, the amount is completely up to your taste, so chop up as much as you desire.  Sprinkle the herbs all over the dough.

Next, sprinkle the cheese all over the dough, lightly press the cheese down, then take one end of the dough and quickly flip it over top of the other half of dough.  Seal the edges and then lift it on a cookie sheet.  Peel off the parchment paper on the top.

Bake for 24-30 minutes.  In the last few minutes lightly brush with some butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired.  Dip in warm pizza sauce, and enjoy!!

Go make it for lunch now!:)

In Christ,
Jaeleen :)
